Eastside Gallery’s 28th annual celebration of the mahi of local Māori artists is on now until 18 July.
“Te Whare Maire o nga Punawerewere” refers to young spiders leaving the web – a metaphor for the way our exhibition programme nurtures artists as they grow their practice.
Curated by Ara postgraduate student Sierra Bright, with guidance from Eastside Gallery’s curator.
Artists include: Antonia de Lautour, Ben Gilden, Emma Ngawai Hipango, George French, Dark Ballad (Joe Clarke), Mateo Rose, Redgie Walker‑Small, Sierra Bright and Tipene Douglas. Deanna Morgan is in the Mini Gallery.
